OUR BOARD

The foundation is governed by a board of three members. Together, they are responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and integrity of the organization. The board oversees policy, finances, and long term vision and ensures that all activities align with the foundation’s mission, values, and statutory objectives.

Each board member brings their own expertise and perspective, contributing to responsible leadership, transparency, and impact. United by a shared commitment to human rights, equality, and social justice, the board supports the foundation’s work and safeguards its continuity and accountability.

Lejla Ramovic

Lejla Ramovic is the Founder and Director of Justice for Women, an advocacy organisation dedicated to advancing gender equality, human rights, and accountability for violence against women and other survivors. Born in Sarajevo and raised in Amsterdam, her personal history and professional trajectory are deeply shaped by a lifelong commitment to justice and a determination to challenge systemic injustice.

Her work focuses on advocating for the rights of survivors of sexual, physical, psychological and structural violence, with particular attention to those whose voices are most often marginalised or silenced. Through Justice for Women, Lejla works to confront stigma, impunity and institutional failure, while creating spaces that centre dignity, visibility, healing, and survivor-led change. Her approach combines advocacy, public engagement, education and strategic partnerships at both national and international levels.

Lejla studied law at the University of Amsterdam and subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Law in the United Kingdom. Alongside her leadership and advocacy work, she is employed as a compliance officer, where she ensures that financial institutions adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards. This professional background strengthens her commitment to accountability, integrity, and responsibility core values that underpin both her legal work and her human rights advocacy.

She is known as a driven, principled, and deeply compassionate professional, with a strong sense of social responsibility and a willingness to challenge systems that fail survivors. Combining idealism with realism, and determination with empathy, Lejla remains firmly committed to the belief that meaningful and lasting change is not only necessary, but achievable.

Seah Chiun Min

Seah Chiun Min is a Ph.D. Researcher at the University of Groningen, specialising in international law, with a focus on International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law, conflict-related sexual violence and children’s rights. She also regularly delivers guest lectures.

Previously, she has worked with several non-governmental organisations and a legal publishing house. Most notably, she served as Social Media Officer and Research Assistant at IMPACT: Center against Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence in Conflict. In this role, she conducted research, contributed to reports and funding proposals, managed social media platforms, and co-edited submitted articles. She also co-authored the editorial introduction for a peer-reviewed special issue of the Journal of Trafficking, Enslavement & CRSV.

Her professional interests and long-term goals include raising awareness of human rights violations, particularly gender- and sexual-based violence, and promoting accountability for these crimes.

She holds an LL.M. in International Criminal Law from the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where her master’s thesis was published as a book. She also obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the University of London.

She is an ambitious, efficient, and personable professional with strong analytical abilities and extensive experience in legal research and academic writing. She is committed to applying her full skill set in roles where she can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Liudmila Vladimirovna Samarkhanova

Liudmila Vladimirovna Samarkhanova works at a boutique trust office in Hilversum, where she brings many years of experience as a financial specialist. With a professional background as an accountant across various companies, she has developed strong expertise in financial oversight, structure and responsibility.

She is deeply committed to advancing women’s rights and contributes actively to the organisation through her dedication, integrity and long-term perspective. Liudmila believes in the importance of accountability, sustainability and ethical practice and supports the mission of creating systems that enable protection, empowerment and justice for women.

Alongside her professional and advocacy work, Liudmila is a mother of two. Her personal interests include cooking, culture, and reading, reflecting her appreciation for care, learning and connection, values that also inform her engagement with the organisation’s work.
